The present invention relates to a device for closing ducts especially during their repair, wherein said device may be used in devices for closing water pipes, petroleum pipelines and other pipe systems. This invention enlarges the scope of application for a plugging device and may be more precisely used in the production of a device for closing high-pressure ducts having a wide variety of diameters. The device of the present invention comprises a cylindrical sealed chamber with rubber walls. One of the end walls of the chamber comprises a duct fitting which is located in the axis of said chamber and takes the shape of an annular disc inside said chamber, wherein said disc is connected to the end wall of the chamber by an intermediate rubber layer. This device also comprises a stress-resistant frame which surrounds the cylindrical sealed chamber and is made of a thread-reinforced cord of a rubber-impregnated material. The frame comprises a cylindrical envelope to which are connected the end walls of said frame which are located against those of the chamber. The end walls of the frame are made of separate radially-extending and partially-overlapping strips having their ends bent along the axis of the chamber. The threads of the cord in the strips are oriented in the direction of said strips, while a protective rubber coating covers the stress-resistant frame. The cylindrical envelope comprises end sections which are bent towards the chamber axis and which have their edges located on the end walls of said chamber. The ends of strips bent along the axis of the chamber are located on the outer surface of the cylindrical envelope.
