A system and method for sharing data files (22) among a plurality of conference participants. The system includes a plurality of conferencing stations (2, 3, 4) operably coupled to a communications network. The method includes steps which are performed before the conference is commenced and optionally during the conference. Before the conference there are steps of assigning an identifier (19, 23) and signature (20, 24) for indicating the last modification of the shared document. After establishing the conference and distributing a list of identifications among the participants, a shared document is generated which includes presentation data (21). The document is edited and distributed whereby only the modified sections of the document (15) are distributed to the participants. |
