PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THERMOPLASTIC RESIN

PURPOSE: A process for producing a thermoplastic resin, acrylate-styrene-acrylonitrile (ASA) resin, is provided which improves dry productivity by reducing moisture inside ASA powder and impact strength surface. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing ASA resin comprising 30-50 pts.wt (based on 100 pts.wt. of the total monomer) of alkyl acrylate monomer, 30-60 pts.wt of aromatic vinyl compound and 10-20 pts.wt of vinyl cyanide comprises the steps of: producing a cross-linked alkyl acrylate rubber polymer by simultaneously copolymerizing 30-50 pts.wt of alkyl acrylate monomer, 0.1-4 parts of methylmethacrylate (MMA) and 0.1-6 parts of acrylonitrile (AN) to broaden effective surface area of rubber, wherein 0.2- 1.0 pts.wt of a metal salt of C12-C18 alkyl sulfosuccinate is used as emulsifier; grafting styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer by putting 40-60 pts.wt of vinyl compound and 10-20 pts.wt of vinyl cyanide into the cross-linked polymer wherein 0.5-3.0 pts.wt of a metal of rosin or C12-C20 carboxylic acid. The resin is used for frost resistant sheet for refrigerator.
