PURPOSE: A device composed of hair of a human being or an animal and a needlework member(10) having a strong water absorption power is provided to collect crude oil floating on water as soon as possible without scattering chemicals over seawater. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a hair part(20) composed of hair of a human being or an animal and a needlework member(10) having a strong water absorption power such as a non woven fabric(preferably). The hair part(20) is inserted into the needlework member(10) in which its inlet is opened(fig.1a) and closed(fig.1b). The device is thrown into seawater polluted by crude oil, water flows fast into the needlework member(10) by its strong water absorption power. Oil flowing into the needlework member(10) is absorbed in hair part(20).
