PURPOSE: A state control method of switched virtual circuit management is provided to effectively manage source by allotting timer to respective state machine of the switched virtual circuit management in asynchronous transfer mode signaling. CONSTITUTION: The state control method comprises: timer establishing process; timer checking process; the process processing messages and shifting them to the next state if the timer is normal state and identifying the state if the timer is abnormal; and the process maintaining present state in connected stable state and being shifted to initial state in disconnected unstable state.
