PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a character displayed on a display device to apparently utter a voice without imposing any excessive load on the speaker by moving the lips of the character displayed on the display device synchronously with a voice uttered by the speaker in a simple processing. SOLUTION: The similarity of an acoustic parameter obtained by analyzing a voice uttered by a speaker 2 and preliminarily registered 24 kinds of phoneme standard patterns is calculated. Also, facial image data corresponding to a phoneme similarity vector indicating the highest similarity are selected from among preliminarily registered facial image data so that a CG(computer graphics) video can be generated. Then, a character 8 whose lips 7 are moving synchronously with the voice uttered by the speaker 2 is displayed on a display device 6 based on the CG video.
