摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the utilization factor of a catalyst of an electrode for a fuel cell by improving the structure of the microscopic three phase interface of the electrode. SOLUTION: A solid polymer electrolyte-catalyst composite electrode containing the solid polymer electrolyte, carbon particles, and a catalyst substance is formed into a structure, in which the catalyst substance is carried mainly on the contact surface of a proton conduction path 2 of the solid polymer electrolyte and carbon particles 1. In order to manufacture an electrode having such a structure, a catalyst raw material compound is made to be adsorbed in a mixture of the solid polymer electrolyte and the carbon particles 1, then the catalyst raw material compound in the mixture is reduced chemically.
