PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord guard which reduces repairing frequency of a code by improving largely the durability of the cord, when bending load works repeatedly on the code and a cord guard in the situation that light load such dead load of the code itself is given. SOLUTION: A cord guard 1 is equipped with a cylindrical hole 5 which can insert a cord 3 into its center, and a flange 11 at the end of the cylindrical hole to be stopped by a code guard stopper 9 of a half-cut housing 7. It is also equipped with a taper cylindrical part 13 wherein the thickness s gradually reduced toward another end of the hole from the flange 11. In addition, the cord guard is equipped with a thin cylindrical part 15 having the uniform thickness, which extends continuously from the taper cylindrical part 13 and further extends towards another end of the hole, and it is also equipped with a ring- shaped thick part 17 to be provided on the peripheral tip of the thin cylindrical part 15. When the dead weight of the cord 3 itself is given as a bending load, the overlay thickness and length of the thin cylindrical part 15 are set so that the bending stress can be so weak as to be bended smoothly at the tip part from the point P.
