PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which prevents cleaning failure. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a cleaning blade 32 for removing residual toner on an intermediate transfer belt 16, which holds a toner image on it, and a swing means 71 for causing the cleaning blade 32 to swing. The swing means 71 causes the cleaning blade 32 to swing consecutively, thereby shaking off the residual toner accumulating on the cleaning blade 32.
