PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use relay switches of small current rating. SOLUTION: A first relay switch 15 and a second relay switch 18 are intervened in a current-carrying path from a power plug 13 to an inverter power supply circuit 16. The inverter power supply circuit 16 is used for driving a magnetron 11, and high-frequency output is varied by on-off control of a switching element 30. When a magnetron drive terminating instruction is given, a control circuit 20 controls the inverter power supply circuit 16 so that an input current of the inverter power supply circuit 16 is set at the prescribed value not more than rated current values of the relay switches 15,18, thereafter the control circuit 20 controls the relay switches 15, 18 to be opened.
