PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera which is excellent in operability and whose entire device is small-sized. SOLUTION: This camera has an image pickup lens which is installed having photographic direction at a front side and its body part includes an image picking up means which records an image by the image pickup lens. A video display device 101 is provided on the rear part of the body part. The device 101 is supported by rotating shafts provided at one edge of hinge arms A105 and B108 that are provided on one side or both sides in a freely rotatable way, and also rotating shafts provided at the other edges of the hinge arms A and B are supported by the body part in a freely rotatable way. The device 101 can turn its display screen up and down and also the display screen can be turned to direct toward the front of the body part.
