摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluorometer which can prevent an overcurrent by a method wherein the output current of a photomultiplier is compared with a prescribed current, the applied voltage of the photomultiplier is changed by a compared result and the output current is controlled to be the prescribed current or lower. SOLUTION: Radiant light from an Xe lamp 11 is dispersed by an excitation-side spectroscope 12, and a sample 14 inside a sample chamber 13 is irradiated. Fluorescence which is radiated from the sample 14 is dispensed by a fluorescence-side spectroscope 15, and it is converted into a current by a photomultiplier 16. The output current of the photomultiplier 16 is compared with a prescribed current by a current comparison circuit 17. When the output current does not exceed the prescribed current, the output current of the photomultiplier 16 is converted into a fluorescent signal so as to be output by a fluorescence-signal output circuit 18. When the output current exceeds the prescribed current, a signal which reduces the applied voltage of the photomultiplier 16 is output to an applied-voltage control circuit 19, and the applied voltage of the photomultiplier 16 is reduced until the prescribed current is reached. At the same time, the abnormality of the output current of the photomultiplier 16 is displayed on a display 20.
