PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device shortening a time required for moving an optical head to a target track. SOLUTION: The optical disk device is provided with a rotary drive mechanism loading an optical disk and rotating it, the optical head, an optical head moving mechanism provided with a thread motor moving the optical head in the radial direction and a control means. When the optical head is moved to the target track, an absolute value (number of target transition tracks of optical head) Nc of Tc-To is obtained (104), and when Nc<=8000, a head transfer pulse voltage of +5 V, 25 ms (109), a brake pulse voltage of -5 V, 15 ms (113) and the brake pulse of -5 V, 5 ms (115) are set, and when 1500<=Nc<8000, the head transfer pulse voltage of +5 V, 20 ms (111) and the brake pulse voltage of -5 V, 5 ms (115) are set, and when 120<=Nc<1500, the head transfer pulse voltage of +5 V, 5 ms (110) is set.
