OPTICAL DISK WITH CARTRIDGE, MAGNETIC DISK DRIVE AND COMPATIBLE TYPE INFORMATION RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record/reproduce compatibly an optical disk and a magnetic disk drive. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk drive 1 is provided with a connector 29 for connecting to an interface on a casing. The outside diameter of the magnetic disk drive 1 excepting the connector 29 is nearly equal to that of an optical disk cartridge 7. Thus, the magnetic disk drive is loaded in an information recording/reproducing device without large altering the loading mechanism of the information recording/reproducing device for the existing optical disk.
