<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a tablet which has a simplified structure of its table input plate and is low-priced by providing the tablet input plate with only Y electrodes, applying a pulse to terminals A or B of all the Y electrodes, and detecting an X coordinate with the detection signal of an input pen based upon the pulse. SOLUTION: The tablet input plate 2 with only the Y electrode Y1 to YM formed is not provided with any conventional X electrode. A scanning pulse is applied from one of Y-electrode driving circuits 4a and 4b to the electrodes Y1 to YM and on the basis of the detection output of the input pen 5, a Y- position calculating circuit 9 measures a Y-coordinate position. Further, the Y-electrode driving circuits 4a and 4b apply a pulse to one end or the other end of a Y electrode Yi (i=1 to M) at a specific time. The input pen 5 detects a voltage induced at an arbitrary point on the tablet input plate 2 as the pulse is applied. An X-position calculating circuit 8 calculates the X-coordinate position of the input pen 5 on the table input plate 2 from the output of an A/D converting circuit 7.</p> |
