摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably improve shock resistance on the removal of a cover and to maintain miniaturization by making a base to which a crystal piece is directly fixed to a flat face to be a recessed form, and making the cover to be smaller than the planar area of the base, setting it to be a planar form and glass-sealing it for enlarging the width of the leg part of the recessed base and maintaining miniaturization. SOLUTION: A crystal oscillator is formed by filling a crystal piece 3 having an excitation electrode 4(ab) and drawing electrodes 5a and 5b into a container formed of a recessed base 10 and a planar cover 11. The recessed base 10 has a rectangular form and it is formed of the ceramic of two layer structure. The face of an inner base is made to be flat. A pair of fitting electrode terminals 6a and 6b are provided in the inner base face. Mounting terminals 8a and 8b protrude to the side of an outer surface and the base from a pair of fitting electrode terminals 6a and 6b. Outer peripheral parts at both ends of the crystal piece 3 are fixed to the fitting electrode terminals 6a and 6b by conduction adhesive and they are electrically/mechanically connected.
