PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device to control the switching on and off of EL(electroluminescence) illumination part o the basis of time information among information received from GPS satellites. SOLUTION: Display information is generates on the basis of reception location information and time information measured by a GPS receiver, and a daytime zone is separated from a nighttime zone on the basis of the measured reception location information and information. Control signals over switching on and off provide an instruction to switch off a light during the period of the separated daytime zone and an instruction to switch on a light during the period of the separated nighttime zone are generated at a data processing part 2. The display based on the generated display information is performed at an LCD display part 3, and an EL illumination part 5 as back light is controlled to switch on and off the display to illuminate the LCD display part 3 selectively on the basis of the generated control signals over switching on and off. |
