PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device capable of reducing parts count and improving workability at the same time, and further decreasing cost and improving quality. SOLUTION: A 1st guide part 8 and a 2nd guide part 9, which are erected independently, are arranged on a rack 4, and a 1st- and a 2nd engaging part 11, 12 arranged on a base part 3, are engaged with the guide part 8, 9 and made up to freely slide. In such a manner, it is possible to directly assemble the base part 3, on which an optical pickup is mounted, on the rack 4 to which the guide parts 8, 9 are fastened, and this arrangement facilitates an assembly process and improves working efficiency. Moreover, it becomes possible to decrease the parts count and cost, and also improve the quality by molding the 1st guide part 8 and the 2nd guide part 9 integral with the rack part 4.
