PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for releasing the socket of a decentralized object system which prevents the resources of sockets and objects from being wastefully used. SOLUTION: A client system detects the release of a variable housing an object reference and an object reference release detection part 27 detects an unnecessary socket by collating the object reference recorded at the time of referring to the 1st object with the corresponding information of a socket number. Consequently, a client-side unnecessary socket disconnection part 24 disconnects the detected unnecessary socket. The information of the disconnected unnecessary socket is reported by a server object release notification part 25 to a server system 1. Then a server-side socket disconnection part 15 of the server system notified of the information of the disconnected socket disconnects the socket corresponding to the information of the disconnected socket to prevent the resources of the sockets and the objects from being wastefully used.
