PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer cladding shed shape for a composite insulator facilitating segment replacement of a die for outer cladding molding. SOLUTION: In the case of an outer cladding shed shape for a composite insulator 1 comprising a core member 2, and an outer cladding 3 made up of a trunk part 4 as well as a plurality of sheds 5 provided on the periphery of the core member 2, the composite insulator 1 being formed by using a die made up by longitudinally connecting a plurality of pairs of segments, each pair having a shed-upper-surface forming part on a main surface of one and a shed-lower-surface forming part on a main surface of the other, such that main surfaces of neighboring segments face each other, the shape of a shed-base part where a shed-under-surface 11 contacts with the trunk part 4 is adapted to be a surface 12 normal to the trunk part 4.
