Control of angular displacement between distribution pinions, driven by toothed belt, by use of counter wheels mounted on separated support arms, linked to center of distribution pinion

The variator consists of two counter-wheels (1,2), mounted on supports (3 and 4), which are linked to the center (5) of the distribution pinion (6). The counter-wheels, which sit on the smooth side of the belt, are located as close as possible to the pinion and are separated one from the other. The relative angular displacement between the two support arms produces a variation in the tension of the belt and also modifies the relative lengths of the sections of belt, which in turn, produces an angular separation between the two pinions.
