The piston is spherical, and has a central bore for energy take-off via internal gears etc. It has circular flat sections of the same size parallel to the central bore, at angles of 120 deg , and one or two ring grooves parallel and at small distances to the flat sections. It may also have further ring grooves parallel to the bore. The piston consists of a main body part and a head. The piston seals consist of individual or three connected rings. Supply of combustion gas mixture, and exhaust removal, is via optimum oval or cylindrical apertures.
