The selector shaft (1) is axially movable by means of a gear shift lever. A gear shift finger (7) engages with movable selector forks or sliding shafts. A locking system consists of a transmission element (4) connected to the selector shaft, and a locking body (13) movable parallel with the selector shaft. The locking body has a surface in the form of a deflector ramp on which one edge (8) of the transmission element is supported.
