Shell which may be associated with different cartridges filled propellent charges has a blunt nosed metallic outer casing in which is disposed a hollow lead core filled with an ignition transfer charge to ignite the disintegrating charge disposed in the nose after the tracer charge is spent following ignition by the propellent charge.
