PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively treat the disturbed metabolism of biotissue occurring in the oxidation function insufficiency of cells by administrating the amt. of a medicine at which the oxidation function of the cells can be altered while measuring and monitoring the oxidation function of the cells. SOLUTION: The information indicating the oxidation function of the cells, more particularly the redox state of cytochromes a, a3 and the oxyhemoglobin concn. of mitochondrial membranes are measured by a spectrometer 22 using near infrared (NIR) spectrometry and a computer 24. Namely, the NIR light generated in the spectrometer 22 is transmitted through a catheter and is guided to the tissue to be monitored from a probe 10. Some of the NIR light is reflected to the distal end of a sheave connector and is returned to the spectrometer 22. The change in the absorption unit of the cytochromes a, a3 and the oxyhemoglobin with time is calculated by the computer 24. The medicine consisting of oxygen, thiosulfate ion, methylene blue, etc., is administered in accordance with the result of the calculation, by which the oxidation function of the cells is altered. |
