PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus in which vibration is inhibited and a sealing compound is applied to the glass substrate of a liquid crystal cell with good precision. SOLUTION: A sealing compound for mutually laminating the glass substrates 11 of a liquid crystal cell is applied by the coating apparatus 21. The glass substrates 11 are supported on a movable stage 23. A syringe 26 is fitted to a supporting part 25 striding over the stage 23. The central axes of the syringe 26 and a needle 37 are aligned with the central axis of the supporting part 25. A discharge part 38 of the tip part of the needle 37 is aligned with the vibration center of the supporting part 25. Even when the stage 23 is moved at a high speed and vibration is transmitted to the supporting part 25, distance between the discharge part 38 and the glass substrates 11 is difficult to be fluctuated and uniformity of coated paint weight is enhanced.
