PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the composition capable of forming a homogenous gel having no fluidity from the initial stage of moisture adsorption of the composition by preparing the composition in such a way as to contain a deliquescent inorganic salt, a hydrophilic polymer selected from cationic acrylamide copolymers, pregelatinized starch, etc., and a cellulose powder in their respective specified contents. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared from a mixture consisting of: (A) 100 pts.wt. of a deliquescent inorganic salt (component A) such as calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, zinc chloride, lithium chloride or aluminum chloride; (B) 10 to 200 pts.wt. of a hydrophilic polymer (component B) selected from cationic acrylamide copolymers each having a 0.3 to 2.5 meq/g cationic equivalent value (Cv) at a pH 4, pregelatinized starch, hydrophilic etherified or esterified starch and hydrophilic crosslinked starch; and further, (C) 0.3 to 30 pts.wt. of a cellulose powder (component C).
