PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a plurality of long sized bands set in an ink jet printer, etc., accurately with their respective optimum tensions. SOLUTION: This device comprises processing parts 48 and 50 to print on a plurality of long sized bands 14 continued by an ink jet printer along a band transporting path and transportation parts 44 and 46 provided in proximity to the processing part 48 and 50 for intermittently transporting the band 14 a set length by length. The device further includes tension adjusting parts 38 and 58 arranged upstream and downstream of the transport path range including the processing parts 48 and 50 and the transportation parts 44 and 46 for regulating constant the tensions of the bands 14 and sensors 40, 42, 60, 62 installed in the tension adjusting parts 38 and 58 for sensing the marginal length of each band 14. Sendout parts are installed upstream of the upper tension adjusting part 38 and downstream of the lower tension adjusting part 58 and arranged as capable of changing over individually at any time between two conditions, i.e., the condition in which the bands 14 are positively fed in conformity to the sensing signals given by the sensors 40, 42, 60, 62 and the condition in which the feed is inhibited.
