PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope abundant in medicine resistance and allowing high-level sterilization regardless of the arrangement portion of a lubricant. SOLUTION: This endoscope is provided with a flexible long insertion section 2 and an operation section installed on the base end side of the insertion section 2, and the insertion section 2 has a lubricant 4 in it. This lubricant 4 contains powder carbon fluoride, (CF)n. The value of the (n) of the carbon fluoride is 30-40, and the average grain size is 1-4μm. The contact angle between the lubricant 4 and water is set to 120 deg. or above.
