<p>1282582 Aminobenzyltetrazole derivatives J R GEIGY AG 17 July 1969 [18 July 1968] 36013/69 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are each H, Me, Et, F, Cl or Br, or R 2 may be CF 3 and R 4 is H, Me, Et, Pr or Bu, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts with bases. These compounds are prepared by (1) forming the tetrazole ring by reacting the corresponding benzyl cyanide (itself prepared via the appropriate anthranilic acid or ester, benzyl alcohol and benzyl halides) with HN 3 or its salt, (2) hydrolysing the derivative of the above formula where R 4 =acyl, or (3) alkylating the compound where R 4 =H by treating with 2 moles NaH followed by alkyl halide. N-acyl derivatives of the italicized compounds under method (1), above, are also prepared, as is 2-(N-formylanilino)benzyl formate. Therapeutic compositions for oral, parenteral, rectal or topical administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which are antiinflammatory, analgesic and (e.g. in creams) ultra-violet absorbers.</p> |
