FLUE GAS TREATMENT EQUIPMENT CAPABLE OF TREATING DIOXIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the equipment that is simply handled and operated and also can be applied to a conventional combustion furnace and has excellent treatment capacity by placing a microwave generator outside a heating element which has high-temp. resistance and through which a primary flue gas is passed, while interposing the inner wall of a metal casing that enables the utilization of microwave reflection, between the heating element and the microwave generator. SOLUTION: In this equipment, a primary flue gas generated in a primary combustion furnace 2 is introduced into a secondary combustor 5 for reheating the primary flue gas to a higher temp., through a flue gas introducing pipe connected to a stack 3 of a furnace main body 1. In the secondary combustor 5, a high-temp. resistant heating element 7 which has a large number of vertical perforated holes for passing the primary flue gas through them and is mainly made of a material capable of causing exothermic reaction by irradiating it with microwaves, such as ceramic material, is placed and outside the heating element 7, a metal casing 25 that enables the utilization of microwave reflection, is also placed. The primary flue gas is retained and heated in the heating element 7 for a specified residence time, while being passed through the heating element 7 heated with a microwave generator 12, to enable complete chemical decomposition and disappearance of dioxins in the primary flue gas and detoxification of the primary flue gas and to discharge the detoxified primary gas into a connecting pipe 9. Thus, in the equipment, the adjustment operation of flue gas heating temp. or the like, can easily be performed and this treatment can be performed with high accuracy and also, the equipment can be applied to a conventional combustion furnace.
