PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic print head for ejecting a liquid drop, as required, from the free surface of a liquid fountain, and a method for changing the passage of ejected liquid drop. SOLUTION: A drop 38 of aqueous ink is focused on a substrate 42 using fields 48, 50. The drop 38 is uncharged and an uncharged inductive drop 38 is subjected to a force in an uneven filed, the drop is focuses. More specifically, lateral directional error in the initial speed of the drop 38 is corrected using the fields 48, 50 such that a lateral speed which may cause a displacement of the drop up to 50μm from an intended position at a place of 1 mm high from the ink surface is corrected to cause a displacement of less than 2.5μm.
