PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photochromic composition coloring in a neutral tint such as gray, green, brown, etc. having a uniform color tone for an initial colorless state by irradiation with light rays including ultraviolet rays such as sunshine, etc. by including specific amounts of a prescribed fulgimide compound, etc., and a specified chromene compound. SOLUTION: This composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a fulgimide compound and/or a fulgide compound and 10-300 pts.wt. of a chromene compound preferably of formula I R1 is a group of formula II [R5 and R6 are each H, a (substituted) 1-10C alkyl or the like; R2 and R3 are each a (substituted) aromatic hydrocarbon or the like; R4 is a substituent group; (n) is 0-4} having >=150 L/mol-cm molar absorption coefficient in a light at 400 nm wavelength.
