PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent convenience in the use of an electric cleaner by providing only two switches consisting of an operation command switch capable of changing over plural operation modes in which control conditions of the number of revolution of an electric blower or power consumption differ sequentially every time when this switch is pressed and an operation stop switch for stopping the operation of the cleaner in a hose at hand operation part. SOLUTION: When an operation command switch 3a of a hose at hand operation part 24 is pressed once, operation mode is set to 'strong', and a lamp 20a indicating a 'strong' condition is lit among display elements 20 to perform cleaning at 'strong' operation. Next, when the operation command switch 3a is pressed once more, the operation mode is set to 'carpet' from 'strong', and a lamp 20b indicating a carpet is lit to perform cleaning at 'carpet' operation. Furthermore, when the operation command switch 3a is pressed once more, the operation mode is set to 'floor and Tatami (rash mat)' mode, and next when the operation command switch 3a is pressed further, the operation mode returns to the 'strong' mode. When the operation is stopped, an operation stop switch 3b is pressed to stop the operation and stop a display of a lighting condition on a cleaner body and the hose at hand operation part 24.
