PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing that can inhibit the entanglement of fishline during fishing operations with no occurrence of malfunction while it is carried around, and has an excellent appearance. SOLUTION: This spinning reel for fishing is equipped with a spool 7 on which a fishline is wound around, a rotor 2 having a yarn guide 5, a leg 1b having an attachment for a fishing rod 1c, and a handle 9 for rotating the rotor 2 on the body 1a of the reel. Finally, the shape of the reel is made almost flat without any protrusion from the back face of the leg 1b to the fore part of the bottom of the reel body 1a.
