PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a self-supporting type adhesive not dripping even on a facing downward, vertical or steeply inclined surface, capable of self-supporting while curing and not requiring a means for supporting a subject material separately, also transparent and capable of obtaining a pretty finish and also excellent in earthquake resistance, and to provide a method for adhering and fixing. SOLUTION: This self-supporting adhesive consists of an un-cured millable type silicone rubber composition sheet adjusted so as to have 0.5-30 kg/cm2 adhesion strength in its un-cured state and having 20-2,000μm thickness and a curing agent for curing the compound. Also, the method for adhering and fixing is to press a subject material to be adhered through the un-cured millable type silicone rubber composition sheet 3 containing a platinum-based catalyst, to the adhered surface for adhesion, and curing the un-cured millable type silicone rubber composition sheet while holding the subject material at the prescribed position only by the adhesion force of the un-cured millable type silicone rubber composition sheet.
