PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply make an automatic welding device for a pipe detachable/ attachable to the pipe. SOLUTION: This automatic welding device 1 for a pipe comprises a carriage 10 and a chain 100, and both ends of the chain 100 are hooked to the carriage 10 after the carriage 1 is put on a pipe 212, so that the pipe 212 is held by the carriage 1 and the chain 100. The carriage 10 has rollers 20A, 20B rotatably driven by a driving motor 23, and a weaving device 30 for supporting and weaving a welding torch 50. The chain 100 is equipped with a pair of multi-node elements 110 constituted by rotatably linking plural chain pieces 112, and rollers 113 for rolling on an outer peripheral face of the pipe 212 are rotatably mounted to a linking part of the chain pieces 112. When the driving motor 23 is rotated, the carriage 10 and the chain 100 are traveled around the pipe 212 so as to automatically supply a welding wire 360 from the welding torch 50 to a groove.
