PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform pressing by avoiding the overlapped portion of cloth and by pulling the cloth during pressing. SOLUTION: A press base 2 is composed of a pair of front and rear press based 21 and 22. A press trowel 7 is composed of a pair of front and rear press trowel 71 and 72, 71 corresponding to the front press base 21 and 72 corresponding to the rear press base 22. The front and rear press bases 21 and 22 are provided in parallel with a gap fro disposing the overlapped portion 11 of cloth. This pressing machine is provided with operation mechanisms 13 and 14 for tensing trousers 1 by slightly shifting rearward the rear press base 22 and the rear press trowel 72 from each other at the time of pressing the trousers 1.
