PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle control device which enables reduction of higher harmonics, being made compact and light-weight, and reduction in the production cost. SOLUTION: AC power received from power cables 1 for an electric car running on an AC line section via a pantograph 2 and a transformer 4 is converted into a DC power with a PWM converting device 5, having a circuit structure of either a two-level or three-level system. Then, the DC power is converted into a three-phase AC power and outputted to a drive motor 8 with a VVVF inverter device 7 which has the circuit structure of either two-level or three-level system different from the circuit structure of the PWM converter device 5. |
