PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform color adjustment of an output image appropriately in a short time and also, regardless of the characteristic with respect to ink of a recording medium used for the color adjustment in a color copy machine, which is provided with a reading part and an ink-jet recording part. SOLUTION: When a recording part of this color copying machine outputs a patch for color adjustment, recording is performed with a thinning rate that corresponds to a recording medium used to record the patch. Then, data (cmy- tbl(tbl-cnt and cmy-cnt)) is finally calculated based on results (rgb-buf(rgb-cnf and r)) obtd. by reading the patch by a reading part of the same device and a content (CMY-TBL(tbl-cnt and cmy-cnt)) of an output color table which is used for binarization processing of copy outputs is updated with the data. Thus, even if patch read density changes according to the difference in ink absorptivity of the recording medium, it is possible to restrain from its affecting the update of the content and also to automatically perform appropriate color adjustment.
