PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device for a supporting member of an instrument and the like, capable of attaching and detaching a supporting plate supporting an apparatus, an instrument and the like, to/from any position on an install rail by pinching a flange part forming a slit of the install rail. SOLUTION: A locking plate 33 is fixed to a tip end portion of a supporting shaft 32 loosely inserted into a supporting plate 22, a male thread part 32a is formed on a base end portion side, and an operating knob 34 is screwed with the male thread part 32a. The width W of the locking plate 33 is made to be smaller than the distance D of a slit 31 of the install rail 21, and the longitudinal length L is made to be larger than the distance D. A controlling plate 38 is provide on the supporting plate 22, which controls rotation of the locking plate 33 between an inserting/drawing position where a direction of the width W is agree with a direction of the distance D of the slit 31, and a locking position where a longitudinal direction is agree with the direction of the distance D. A lock spring 36 is laid between the supporting plate 22 and the locking plate 33, and a restoring force thereof is energized in a direction of separating the locking plate 33 from the supporting plate 22.
