PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent transfer image by preventing the rough image in consequence of transfer defect or the excessive transferring current flow from appearing, regardless of the change in properties or the like of a transfer material. SOLUTION: This transferring device is allowed to transfer the toner image on an intermediate transfer body 5, onto transfer material P being attracted by a transfer belt 6 by applying transfer bias on the transfer belt 6. A transfer bias applying power source 28 is constituted by connecting the constant voltage circuit and the constant current circuit in series. By allowing the voltage value generated from the constant voltage circuit to be changed, for instance, in accordance with such as properties of the transfer material (resistance change by temp./humidity, size in lengthwise, thickness, etc.), the excellent transfer image is made possible to obtain, without generating the rough image caused by the transfer defect or the transferring current excess even under the worst condition that is to say, transfer materials of various sizes, both side high resistance paper, or maximum toner spread. |
