Latch, especially for immobilising a multiple-bolt lock rod in terms of translational movement, comprising a case 1, in which a bolt-forming member 5 is mounted displaceably, a member 8, 16, 19 for operating the said bolt-forming member between an extended position and a retracted position being furthermore mounted rotatably in the bottom of the case, characterised in that the said bolt-forming member 5 projects from the face of the case 1 of the latch opposite the bottom of the latter and is mounted so as to be displaceable by the said operating member 8, 16, 19 approximately perpendicularly to the plane of the said face. <IMAGE>
