PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber compsn. for sponge which gives a vulcanized rubber foam which is excellent in shape recovery, expands selectively (usually at least 80%) in the longitudinal direction when stuck to a part to be sealed and then heated though it is a vulcanized rubber, and hence exhibits a high sealing performance, can avoid the use of excess materials, and is the most suitable as a sealing material, a sheet material, etc., for protecting against vibration, water, wind, and sound and to provide a vulcanized rubber foam prepd. from the same. SOLUTION: This compsn. comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. ethylene-α-olefin- nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber formed from ethylene, a 3-20Cα-olefin, and a nonconjugated polyene, (B) 5-40 pts.wt. crystalline polyolefin resin having an m.p.(Tm) by DSC of 40-135 deg.C, (C) 0.5-50 pts.wt. blowing agent, (D) 30-300 pts.wt. filler, (E) 10-200 pts.wt. plasticizer, and (F) a vulcanizing agent. The vulcanized rubber foam is prepd. by vulcanizing and blowing the compsn. |
