<p>A synthetic resin composition which can be hardened by irradiation consists of a solution of a copolymer of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid, or of their esters, in at least 1 vinyl monomer. Such compositions can be hardened in air. The process is simple and uses cheap and uses cheap and easily available raw materials. The compositions can be used to form surface coatings, to produce films or sheets of insulating material, to impregnate materials such as concrete, plaster, paper, wood or textiles, to form tubes, to coat metal sheets and cables, and to produce organic glass for lenses windscreens and mirrors.</p> |
