<p>The knitted hose is drawn off over a central plate beneath the knitting machine and passes through a suction tube below the plate, and a closure disc is axially movable in the upper ball-shaped end of the suction tube to (1) block the top of the tube as the leading edge of the hose amines (2) to clamp the leading edge of the hose against the central plate and thereby allow the remainder of the hose to pass in a folded over condition through the annular gap between the disc and the wall of the upper and of the tube; and (3) to release the leading edge to allow, it pass through the annular gap when the trailing edge of the hose has passed through the tube. Needle breakage is reduced.</p> |
