The visual signal system is an addition to a mobile telephone acoustic signaling. The acoustic signaling of the telephone is switched-off by manual action and an optical signaling is actuated. During the acoustic signaling, a switch, level with the telephone housing, is folded out manually at one side, and light emitting diodes integrated at this side are raised above the housing level, for display of a visual signal.
