FIELD: land protection facilities. SUBSTANCE: method is used for protection of land from destruction by waves or abrasion, and particularly of banks of ponds and water reservoirs. According to method, created is protective grass and bush wooden strip on banks 2-4 years after maximal filling of reservoir with water. During this period created in result of wave impacts is most optimal incline of coastal line. Water level is lowered to width which is equal to maximal length of wave developed in water basin. Planted on exposed beach are water and semi-water grass plants. Ditch is dug out in top of cliff so that created dump is located at side of water basin. Planted in ditch are root-developing bushes, and planted on dump are bindweed, creeping, and climbing plants such as hops, wild grapes, blackberries in equal proportions. Application of aforesaid method allows for creation of multilevel, rather thick vegetation covering which dampens force of wave impacts and also provides conditions for cleaning water, living of birds and animals.
