Apparatus for isostatic pressing, diffusion bonding, and the like, having a furnace designed to prevent turbulence in the hot zone so substantially the entire free space may be occupied by the work. In one form, the furnace can operate in vacuum to 100 microns and in air or inert gas at temperatures to 2,600 DEG F. and pressures to 30,000 pounds per square inch which shortens the operating cycle by substantially eliminating the heatup and cooldown time. |
