The hydraulic cylinder, expansion cone and expandable mandrel (4) are assembled together to form an integrated, very compact and servicing-friendly unit. The expansion cone is formed conically in the expandable mandrel with a slope angle which enables the expandable mandrel in its basic design to handle rollers with a core diameter of between 70-76 millimeters. An adaptor can be provided to enable the expandable mandrel to handle rollers with other diameters.
